Multiple Choice Question, October 29th

Question: What does Dodge and Burn do?

                 A. Add  more colour to the picture

                 B. Lighten and darken the picture in selected areas

                 C. Make the picture all grayscale

                 D. Blur the background

Book Cover, October 29th

I think my book cover is colourful and exciting. It has lots of pictures and a good description on the back. I think the title explains it well. It includes pictures from google, and my potrait picture of myself. To improve this project I probably could have made the writing more clear and possibly a darker colour to make it more readable.

2nd Potrait, October 27th

This is a picture of me. I changed my picture to grayscale. I used almost all of my protocals; such as levels, crop, sharpen, grayscale. I cloned the back board in some areas to make it blend more. I also used spot healing to make my cheeks look softer and lighter.

Portraits, October 27th

This is my potrait picture of Dylan. I used my levels to darken/lighten this picture. I sharpened it to make his eyes stand out more. I slightly blured the background and used the cloning tool to blend the background better. I used the spot healing brush to make his face seem softer and more clear.

September Light, October 12th

This is my september light. I used colour balance to bring out more yellow than any other colour. I used my levels to slighten darken this picture because the yellow and all the sun light made it too bright. I think the shadow in this picture is pretty cool.

Fall Light, October 12th

For this picture I used all of my protocols including; Levels, Color balance, brightness and contrast etc. I used my rule of thirds by putting the 2 lines across and down the picture. I duotoned this picture and added the turquoise tint. The leading lines in my picture are the lines coming from each side leading towards ashton and how the wall comes down, also leading to ashton.

Rule of Thirds October 5th

For 2 of these pictures i made them grayscale, and for the other two I just used my other protocals. Such as levels, contrast, brightness and colour correction. I used the marquee tool to add them 3 lines across and the 3 lines down. I have a centre and off center picture, a pointing picture and just an off center picture.

Duotone September, 27nd

Amanda is my duotone picture. I changed the levels to lighten it. I used contrast check to lighten the picture in different ways. I sharpened this picture to make amanda stand out more than the plain background. I blurred the background so that anyone who looked at this picture would be able to tell amanda is the centre focus. I made this picture duotone, firstly i had to make it grayscale.

Leading Lines September, 27nd

For my leading lines picture I adjusted my levels and also the contrast. I used the dodge tool to highlight my leading lines. The door is my center focus. only because almost all the lines in this picture lead up to it. I used the burn tool to slightly darken everything else. I used duotone to tint this picture.

Layers September, 27nd

For this picture I changed the levels from darker to lighter or lighter to darker. I sharpened  this picture to make certain things stand out more and to make it less blured. The dodge-burn tool really helped make the trees stand out in this picture. It also made the mountain in the far distance more noticeable.
